BEHIND THE LENS
Gerardo Antonio (Gerry) Gonzalez is a commercial/Fine Arts photographer who works in Puerto Rico, the United States and the Caribbean.
In 1989 Gerardo Antonio completed his studies in photography and Fine Arts at the San Francisco Art Institute in California. After obtaining his BFA degree, he moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico to work as an assistant for Master Jorge Santana, one of the island's top advertising photographers. In 1993 he was hired to manage the Governor of Puerto Rico's Photography Department where he worked for 7 years.
His career started at age 18 when he was hired as staff photographer for the San Juan City Major, a year later he was working as staff photographer for one of the top selling entertainment magazines in the island.
Gerardo Antonio opened his own studio in 1999 where he shoots commercial photography, portraits, and fine arts. His list of clients include recognized name brands and organizations like; Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, PepsiCo, KFC, Romano's Macaroni Grill, Texaco, GlaxoSmithKline, InnovaCare Health Solutions, MMM HealthCare, Trane, Burson Marsteller, Humana, Young & Rubicam, Capri, Del Alto Foods, MCS, The National Guard Association of the U.S. The Southern Governors Association, The American Society of Limnology and Oceanography, Puerto Rico House of Representatives and The Puerto Rico Department of Labor amongst many others.
Gerardo's real passion for photography keeps him busy working on numerous personal projects.
